Imam Mojtaba Khamenei’s Message After The Funeral Procession & Burial Of Shaheed Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei
In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
“Peace be upon you, O’ Thar Allah and the son of Thar Allah, and the unavenged so far” [Excerpt from Ziyarat Ashura].
Peace be upon you [Imam Husayn (A)], and upon your grandfather (A), your father (A), your mother (A), your brother (A), and the Ma’sumeen (A) from among your descendants.
Peace be upon the Imam (Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (R)) whose uprising’s life-giving call sent forth the mighty, resonant echo of the Prophet (S)’s Be’tha, reverberating through the deepest reaches of history and ultimately giving rise to the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
This was a revolution (the Islamic Revolution) that was fundamentally Husayni [in essence], built and nurtured upon the slogans and principles of Imam Husayn (A).
The Martyred Leader of Iran (Shaheed Khamenei) was also nurtured under these very same principles.
He (Shaheed Khamenei) was Husayni [in character]; his thoughts were Husayni, his actions were Husayni, he engaged in a Husayni Jihad and a Husayni resistance, he lived a Husayni life, and [ultimately, Shaheed Khamenei] offered his Husayni blood on the path of the Husayni Maktab (school of thought) and attained martyrdom.
Among the Husaynis (the devotees of Imam Husayn (A)), there are those who, when on the path of Husayn (A) and for the Maktab (the school of thought) and ideals of Husayn (A, their blood is unjustly spilled on the ground, Islam’s Ummah is [in turn,] moved to action; so that their time becomes connected to Ashura and their place becomes connected to Karbala.
And now, that same Husayni fervor has risen up our nation and has manifested the school of Khomeini The Great and Khamenei The Martyr in a new light. This is the life-giving outcry that echoes the cry of Imam Husayn (A)’s oppression and his call of “Hal Min Nasirin Yansuruni?” (i.e. “Is there any helper to come to my aid?”) – an echo that reverberates across Iran, and subsequently in Iraq and other nations [as well], sending tremors through [the very foundations of] Batil (falsehood).
And on this occasion, it is befitting to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible, enemy-shattering, and historic turnout of tens of millions of people across the cities and villages of Iran and Iraq; particularly in Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad.
Our nation seeks to take the revenge for the blood of Husayn (A).
For years, this great nation has sacrificed its children on the path of Husayn (A), and while battling the enemies of Husayn (A) and [the enemies of] Husayni principles.
And [this nation] seeks to take the revenge for Husayn (A)’s blood and the blood of the Husaynis of our time.
Now, I offer these words to our martyred Leader: O’ Unjustly Slain [Leader]! O’ Oppressed [Yet] Exalted! O’ Righteous Servant of Allah! As we bid farewell to your body with tearful eyes and broken hearts, we pledge an oath to safeguard your Maktab (school of thought), to steadfastly tread the straight path you have laid out, and to fear no hardship on that path, and to attach our hearts to divine promises and glad tidings as you did.
We pledge an oath to take the revenge of your pure blood and [the blood] of all the martyrs of these two wars (the 2nd and 3rd Sacred Defense Wars) from the criminal, disgraceful murderers.
This vengeance is the demand of our nation, and it must definitely be done.
These criminals, whose names are fully documented from the highest to the lowest ranks, will carry their dream of a peaceful death in a bed to the grave. They must know that this action (revenge) doesn’t depend on my presence or that of any other official. Whether we are here or not, this will come to fruition. And quite soon, free-spirited people throughout the world will each carry out a part of this divine mission.
O’ Martyred Father of the Ummah! May you enjoy the sweet honey of martyrdom, which you yearned for all of your life. Congratulations upon the honorable robe of martyrdom [that you wear] with a body that bears the marks of your mother, the pure [Fatimah] Zahra (A), and your ancestors, Aba Abdillah al-Husayn (A) and Abal Fazl al-Abbas (A).
And you, O’ his (Shaheed Khamenei’s) oppressed companions (i.e. Shaheed Khamenei’s family members) – who were taken by surprise by the enemy’s attack and attained martyrdom – how blessed you are, for you are now the guests of that Mawla whose kindness and grace you had perhaps experienced many times. That Agha – who is the gateway to divine mercy for all and especially for the people of this land – is now your host, and the sanctuary of his presence is now your home.
And to you, O’ Exalted Master! O’ Magnanimous One! O’ Gracious Imam! O’ Abal Hasan al-Redha al-Murtaza, may Allah’s highest blessings be upon you; today, following years of relentless dedication and unceasing struggle, the torn and broken body of a servant from among your servants, [who is one of your] pure descendants (Shaheed Khamenei), rests in this sacred earth (Mashhad) alongside the bodies of the martyrs from his family, each one who is a reminder of a martyr from the plains of Karbala.
[Here they shall rest] until the day when – by Allah’s command – the sun that illuminates the world, his eminence, the Baqiyyatallah, may Allah the Exalted hasten his noble reappearance, emerges from behind the clouds of occultation to radiate the light of Allah’s mercy upon the people on earth.
On that day, which we are hopeful will arrive very soon, stars from among the truthful, the martyrs, and the Awliya will accompany his eminence [Imam al-Mahdi (A)].
We are hopeful that our martyred Agha (Shaheed Khamenei) will be one of them, once again displaying brilliant and peerless scenes in striving for Allah’s cause and faithfulness to the Covenant of Alast. And perhaps these companions will once again stand by his side on that day as well.
O’ Gracious Mawla [Imam al-Redha (A)]! We entrust our Leader – who dedicated his everything to your cause – and his martyred companions to you and your grace and favor; may they continue to enjoy your grace – just as they did during their earthly lives – and indeed experience it to an even greater and more abundant degree hereafter.
In closing, we offer our condolences once more to our Master, his eminence, the Baqiyyatallah [Imam al-Mahdi (A)], may Allah the Exalted hasten his noble reappearance. We humbly beseech that magnanimous, benevolent figure to direct his pure supplications toward Iran’s Martyred Leader, his martyred companions, and all [the other] martyrs. May he beseech Allah, the Exalted and Most High, to grant all the martyrs the loftiest ranks, to bestow patience and a divine reward upon their bereaved families, and to grant the oppressed nation of Iran a certain, imminent victory and triumph, Insha Allah.
