Imam Mojtaba Khamenei’s Message In Gratitude To The Iraqi Nation For Their Funeral Ceremony Of Shaheed Khamenei (R)

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

We extend our greetings, salutations, highest regards, and deepest appreciation to the esteemed Grand Maraje’ (grand religious authorities), revered scholars, professors, and distinguished personalities of the Hawza (Islamic seminaries) and universities, precious intellectuals and elites, commanders and tribal leaders, tribal Shaykhs and heads of clans, the noble and full of love [Iraqi] people, and the honorable and dignified youth of the oppressed land of Iraq.

The Mo’min people of Iraq, who are blessed with the great blessing of living near to and hosting the Alullah (the Ahl al-Bayt) – Allah’s salutations and Salam be upon them all – in the sacred shrines [of Iraq], who (i.e. the people of Iraq) possess a luminous heritage of culture, and benefit from the spiritual and guiding support of the luminous and ancient seminary of Najaf al-Ashraf, and have shown their Mujahed actions in the Resistance Front, have created – like the people of Iran – a monumental, deeply meaningful epic filled with [profound] grief and devotion, in their welcoming of the great Martyred Leader (Shaheed Khamenei), may Allah exalt his noble station.

Iraq became a blessed land from the day that the sacred footsteps of our Mawla, Amir al-Mo’mineen [Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A)], were placed upon its soil. And soon thereafter, Iraq’s people, with utmost pride, adorned themselves with the [glimmering] necklace of the bond of the love and the Wilayah of Imam Ali (A) and his pure descendants, Allah’s salutations and Salam be upon them all.

The [countless] eras of the domination by tyrants and oppressive rulers over this land [of Iraq], never succeeded in erasing the unparalleled jewel of Wilayah and the love for the purified Household (the Ahl al-Bayt (A)) from the hearts of its people.

For this very reason, after the fall of the Ba’thist regime, the monumental event of the Arbaeen Walk has emerged. And because it (the Arbaeen Walk) arose from the very depths of the souls of faithful people, it has grown day by day.

And it is precisely for this reason, that when these people saw the oppressed and martyred son (i.e. Shaheed Khamenei) of Amirul Mo’mineen [Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A)] and [the son of] the Master of Martyrs [Imam Husayn ibn Ali (A)] – Allah’s salutations and Salam be upon them both – after years of superficial distance from the sacred shrines, returned this time with a body reminiscent of [Imam] Husayn (A), his mother [lady Fatima (A)], and his brother [Abul Fazl al-Abbas (A)], to do the Tawaf (circumambulation) of the luminous sanctuaries, they (the Iraqi people) honored his arrival with their entire being.

On the other hand, this million-strong and unparalleled funeral procession for the Alamdar (the standard-bearer) of the Resistance, [vividly] displayed the full extent of the solidarity, brotherhood, and companionship between the two nations of Iraq and Iran.

Without a doubt, the leaders of [Global] Arrogance watched the magnificent scenes of this massive gathering in Iraq with fearful hearts, and they saw how their extensive investments aimed at damaging the relationship between the two nations [of Iran and Iraq] have proven futile and ineffective.

This turnout of tens of millions, both in Iran and in Iraq, and that too on the occasion of the funeral and farewell [ceremony] of the Mujahid Shaheed Imam (Shaheed Khamenei) – Allah elevate his noble station – has opened a new chapter of the awakening and active engagement [of the people,] aimed at changing the predetermined equations that had been designed by the Arrogant Powers.

And now, the Great Satan – the criminal America – has come to understand that its continued trouble-free and domineering presence in the region is nothing more than a vain illusion.

[Very] soon, the open arms of the generous Iraqi nation and its warm-hearted, full of love tribes and clans will once again welcome the eager pilgrims of Arbaeen, including the vast multitude who will be performing the [Arbaeen] pilgrimage on behalf of the Martyred Leader of Iran.

This [event of Arbaeen] will become interwoven with the memory of this magnificent funeral [procession] and [the memory of] the great man (Shaheed Khamenei) who had perhaps cherished in his heart for many years the [deep] longing to visit the sacred shrines [in Iraq].

And in this manner, the slogan full of truth, “Hubbul Husayn Yajma’una!” (“The love of Husayn (A) unites us all!”) will be displayed before all, and Insha Allah (Allah willing), will be accompanied with the Duas (the prayers) of our Master (Imam al-Mahdi) – Allah the Exalted hasten his noble reappearance – for the security, the blessings, and the progress of the Iraqi nation; by Allah’s favor and generosity.
